MECAMIDI ITALIA
FRANCIS TURBINE
Francis turbines allow the widest possible scope, both in terms of head and power (covering a range from 15 to 150m).
MECAMIDI ITALIA manufactures Francis turbines both vertical and horizontal, adapted to medium heads and flows. Sites equipped with Francis turbines show small discharge changes and thus allow to get high production efficiencies. Many SHPP power plants equipped with francis turbines, have more than one turbine installed.
MECAMIDI ITALIA
KAPLAN TURBINE
Kaplan turbines are designed to harness low to medium-low heads (from 2.0 m up to as much as 30.0 m) and high flow rates.
These turbines offer the widest range of configurations regarding turbine axis orientation, generator coupling type, control methods, general layout, and number of blades. They always require careful analysis of potential variations in operating head, which significantly influence their efficiency.

MECAMIDI ITALIA
PELTON TURBINE
Pelton turbines are impulse turbines, meaning their operation is not influenced by the downstream water level. They are designed for high heads (at least 50.0 m or even higher for large flow rates), where water is conveyed through pressurized pipelines. Pelton turbines primarily differ based on the number of nozzles they are equipped with.
MECAMIDI ITALIA
SCREW TURBINE
Screw turbines are ideal for low-head sites (from 1 to 10 m) with high flow rates. They operate through the rotation of an inclined screw driven by the force of the water, offering consistent efficiency even with variable flow conditions and minimal environmental impact. They are particularly suitable for hydroelectric plants located in natural areas or subject to ecological constraints.

MECAMIDI ITALIA
OTHER EQUIPMENT
Mecamidi is able to supply fully integrated, ready-to-use systems that require minimal setup or adjustments, simplifying installation and operation. Our installations can be completed with the full range of electrical panels, trash racks, gates, valves, and any other equipment necessary for the proper operation of a hydroelectric power plant.
